The background of the TradeStation Desktop program is the desktop, which you see when the program starts as a blank screen. The desktop hosts workspaces.
A workspace holds the applications that you use. Applications appear as windows on a workspace. Use 2 workspaces: Minuting and Tally.
Minuting
Minuting is the primary workspace. Use a 1200-share (volume) bar chart for timing and 2400-share bar chart for context.

Both 1200 and 2400 charts display the Visage overlay.
The 1200 chart also shows VoX and the Cockpit indicator.
The 2400 chart has the CloseLine and VWAP 7o5 overlays. For display clarity, the 2400 VWAP chart uses the “Area on Close” display style.
Besides charts, the minuting workspace has a DOM (which TradeStation calls the Matrix) for trading, Trade Bar to set order parameters, and a Radar to keep the cracker barrel.
Tally
Set the Tally workspace to show 2 Manager windows: one for Balances, the other Orders.![]()
Workspace Bar

The workspace bar is at the lower left of the Desktop. Open workspaces are shown as tabs. Left-click a tab to select a workspace. Right-click a tab and management popup menu appears, as shown.
