Superior Stock Trading indicators work with TradeStation Desktop, which is a Windows PC program.
This section is a guide to salient TradeStation Desktop features, and how to set the Desktop to optimize minuting. The primary goal is clarity: for workspaces to show only what is helpful.
To minute, the Desktop must be responsive. Hence, a secondary goal is to minimize data pull, thereby lessening the likelihood of data drought.
TradeStation Account
To minute, you need a TradeStation margin trading account.
Your TradeStation customer number can be found (and copied) via the Help menu, About TradeStation menu item.

SST Setup
The capitalized Desktop refers to the TradeStation trading program, whereas lower case desktop refers to the container for workspaces in the program.
TradeStation Desktop has many settings. While Desktop has a backup and restore feature, transferring a Desktop via a backup file is problematic, especially considering that visual Desktop setup depends on monitor configuration.
This section tells how to set up your Desktop program for minuting. The sequential steps for setup are: 1) install SST.dll, and 2) import indicators. Only then are you ready to open an SST workspace.
SST.dll
Copy the SST.dll file into the C:\Program Files (x86)\TradeStation 10.0\Program\ folder. A dll is a dynamic link library that, in this case, can access data otherwise unavailable to indicators.
Importing Indicators
You received your personalized SST toolkit (set of indicators) by email as an *.eld file.
![]()
TradeStation calls an indicator a study. Indicators are written in EasyLanguage. TradeStation also uses “EasyLanguage” to indicate an indicator. Import your SST indicators via a dialog accessed from the File menu.

Workspaces
You don’t need to create workspaces: they are pre-made for you. Download workspaces (and other files) here.
Custom Symbol Lists
The SST minuting workspace already has the cracker barrel loaded, so these instructions are superfluous.
The crackers.csl file provided by SST is a custom symbol list. Put this file in C:\Users\AN\Documents\TradeStation 10.0\CustomSymbolLists, where AN is your Windows user account name.
TradeStation Platforms
TradeStation has multiple trading platforms besides its classical Desktop program. Because only Desktop affords installing custom tools, Desktop is the only platform for minuting.
Titan X is TradeStation’s latest desktop trading application. Trading can be done via a web browser. And TradeStation lets you gamble in the stock market using your mobile phone.
To not risk capital before you are ready to carve profits, your minuting training is done in the Desktop simulator.
