DOM (depth of market) is an application that shows a cellular ladder of prices for a stock. The current price is distinctly highlighted.

Make an order and manage it using a DOM. Click on the blue Buy column to buy via a limit order. Click on the red Sell column to sell via a limit order. When the current price is at the selected level, the order fills and the position opens.
An unmet limit order may be dragged to change its level. This applies to both position entry and exit. For example, an unfilled entry order may be moved to a different level. Moving an open (unfilled) order is the noose tactic.
Once an order is filled and a position opened, manage that position by clicking a cell on the opposite side of the entry order to set a price level at which to close the position as a limit: close an open long (bought) position with a sell order, and close a short (sell) position with a buy order. When the current price is at the selected level, the order fills and the position closes.
Adjunct to a DOM is a trade bar, to set order quantity and duration, and to make market orders. For minuting, set order duration to “Day”, which means that an order expires at the end of the regular session.
